Traveling to Tunisia was the fulfillment of a long-time dream. From the flowers that bloom with all their might, to the parade of brightly-colored doors in the old city, Tunisia is an ancient and sacred place with so many small, intricate, and meaningful details. The bottom line? Tunisia is ready for you. The phrase I repeatedly heard as a solo female traveler was, “You are welcome here.”
The itinerary I selected included a 24-hour layover each way in Istanbul. I knew I'd get to experience some awesome traditional Turkish fare on the ground...but what about in the air?
